Steel City Press Ltd. enjoys a diverse & almost 100 years’ interesting history! The current venue was the birthplace of the now huge and famous Tata Main Hospital (TMH). After TMH was shifted, this venue was converted to ‘Commercial Stationery mart’ a privately owned Press which was soon converted into a Limited company ‘ Steel City Press Ltd.’ in 1968, a wholly owned subsidiary of TISCO. At that time it had 200 employees and it was a letter press with seven machines. SCPL was one of the first Printing Press in Jamshedpur.

Subsequently, in the early 80s, in view of some clauses in the MRTP act, this became a separate company with a mixed board of senior executives of Tata Steel & some respectable and renowned citizens of Jamshedpur. Over the years, the machines were upgraded, manpower was rationalized and from the traditional letter press the capabilities were enhanced to include offset, colour printing, screen and digital printing.
